A Letter of Support from Canada

Dear Pastor Benke,

We are home from church this morning due to a snow storm and I was surfing around the internet listening to MIDI hymns when I stumbled upon information about your troubles following the September 11 tragedy.

I sincerely, sincerely hope that the people who made such difficulty for you have come to their senses. As a Lutheran Church-Canada member I am absolutely embarrassed, appalled and ashamed at their response and although my support is obviously very late in coming, I felt I must let you know that despite the wrong-headed and hard-hearted response of some Canadian pastors that I am sure the vast majority of Lutherans feel similarly to me.

May God bless you as you reach out to others to share his love and compassion. My prayers are with you.
